Let me begin by telling you I almost missed the meeting with Christopher Mendez because I logged on a few minutes late (& don't like being late for anything) I'm beyond grateful that I attended because as Christopher was explaining to the group how our kids are all there, and it's the louder ones that get his attention. I said out loud, "Come on Jamie-I need to hear from you tonight." When Christopher called on me I was kind of like a deer in the headlights😳 (BUT SO EXCITED). The validations he gave me about our relationship & energy and spirit being so active were SPOT ON. When he told me about the cats (he had different animals throughout his life and rescued a dog one year before his murder-ironically the girl that shot him is named Kat).
He said he'd call Jamie "Lou" a compassionate warrior and again was SPOT ON, my son would pick up on people's feelings and energy before they would even say anything and he'd make people laugh if they were down or listen if they needed to talk.
When Christopher mentioned holding his face, I lost it because I held his face in the ICU (he was unconscious), and I told him "It's ok if you need to go" AND my granddaughter also held his cheeks (2 days before he was shot) and SHOOK his head until he was looking her in the eyes and said " Don't worry Uncle Jamie, I got your back and I Love You."
In addition to all the beautiful validations up to that point, Christopher mentioned his sneakers. I have his sneakers under his memorial cabinet and when I travel I take them with me..so words can't express how grateful I am to Christopher Mendez and HPH for that amazing gift six days before his third Birthday in Heaven.
