Good morning Shining Light parents. This morning I was instant messaging with another mom from the conference. I was saying how it was hard to leave the love bubble of the conference and come home. Why is that? I have a good life at home.

Here’s my thoughts on this:

Our society has become so glued to our phones and computers that we have become distanced from face to face interactions. At the conference, we talked to each other. We wore name tags with our children’s pictures. Our name tags listed where we came from. We all were there for the common purpose and goal of healing and learning and connecting with our children and each other. We all understood a grief that we would never wish upon anybody, so there wasn’t any hiding of emotion or censoring our words to not make others uncomfortable, like we sometimes do.

What I hope we all take away from this conference is the certainty that our children are with us and guiding us every day. I’m choosing to share the amazing experiences of the conference with friends and not censor myself. I heard an HPH dad say this conference gave him hope. Our world needs face to face love and hope interactions. Spread your love and hope. We can all be that one tiny shining light that creates a ripple effect. Don’t hide your voice or your light. SHINE brightly!
