Autumn / Shelly Wilson
It was an honor to receive a message from Autumn thru Shelly Wilson. Always so comforting to hear from our kiddos - it is like hearing from them fills my spiritual bucket until the next time.
Tonight when Shelly began speaking about a young woman with long light brown hair i got chills but waited to hear just a bit more from her. Once she said she left suddenly I felt it must be Autumn trying to reach me.
I have learned that when she is trying to reach me I get chills all over.
She did leave us suddenly, in a tragic way. We received that unimaginable call no parent wants to get.
Shelly said she has the longer straight hair. Autumn’s is naturally wavy but she also flat ironed it on occasion as you see in her picture s well as her hands in her hair - since she was a baby!
Shelly spoke of Autumn’s room and that it was untouched. It is pretty much the same as when she left it, other than a collage of pictures of her made by her friends. Shelly also said i go in there to sit. Well, i sleep in there all the time but for about a week i sat on the floor sorting thru some of her clothes and school notebooks which also contained writings. Autumn also always sat on the floor in her room to study, write, paint.
Shelly said she loved music and she did. She liked to play the guitar for fun. She has a quote on the wall that reads “music is life, that’s why our hearts have beats.”
Shelly mentioned that she curls up next to me in bed and runs her hand thru my hair.
She used to do that when she’d get home from work. She would curl up next to me and tell me about her day while playing with my hair or tickling my back.
Shelly also said that there was something beyond my grief that had my attention and she was spot on. I had a spinal fusion surgery recently and am set for a second surgery in a few weeks.
Shelly was just amazing - I am feeling so blessed right now and also so deeply grateful for you and all you do to help us grieving parents.
There was one thing i could not understand that Shelly kept coming back to and it was hoop earrings - or something like headphones - and did she wear them upside down.
Autumn wore a stethoscope every day - she was in veterinary grad school and wore them everyday. She also wore them to work at the clinic. Worn around her neck forms a big hoop, is upside down and is a headset for our bodies.
I just wanted to bring that forward as Shelly kept bringing it up.
Could you please let her know that we figured it out and that she was spot on.
Thank you so much,
~Darlene, Autumn’s mom, FE 21
