Focus on our Affiliate Leaders: Beautiful Sandra Seiden - HPH SE Florida

It has truly been an honor being the Helping Parents Heal SE Florida affiliate leader over the past few years! After my son Josh transitioned (March 2018), I sought guidance in my healing journey in many different places. Just talking about HOW and WHY my son had passed away was NOT helpful for me. Finding HPH was a key to my healing!

Our group meets on ZOOM on the first and third Tuesday of each month and gets together for many in-person activities. It has grown into a tight-knit 'family' filled with so much love, support, friendship, and healing. We all speak the same language! Some activities we've shared are Intuitive Art Classes, Sound Healing on the Beach, Breath Work, a Metaphysical Expo, and candle-lighting ceremonies. Lots of dinners, too! We celebrate each other and our children! When we come together, we are MORE! I have included photos of our Beautiful Shining Light Family.

You can usually find me with my horses when I'm not spending time with my HPH family! For 20 years, I've been the Florida State Director of a not-for-profit charity, 'Personal Ponies.' When my youngest child was born with special needs, I sought additional support outside the formal 'Medical Box' therapies for my nonverbal 4-year-old and found this wonderful organization! I have six little therapy ponies, and along with our volunteers, we make a positive difference in children born with special needs, medically fragile children, Alzheimer's and dementia patients, social and emotional disorders, addiction, foster care, or anywhere the special touch of a pony can make magic! I have included photos of the magic.

My best form of self-care is hopping on my horse, Picasso, and getting lost deep on the trails when I can.

Volunteering and helping others have also played a huge part in my life and now in my healing journey. Whether it's keeping my 'Free Little Food Pantry' filled for those recovering from addiction, speaking at rehabs, or handing out gently-used shoes and socks to those in need, I know I am honoring my son Josh, who is right beside me, all the way.
