My Jamie,

I dreamt we sat together while I snuggled you close in my arms. So happy to be with you. We talked as we always have. I told you I miss you. You told me not to miss you. Then, with a twinkle in your eye and a playful grin, you said, ‘I don’t miss you.’

When I told you I’m happy you don’t miss me, you looked at me, joy still filling your face, and said, ‘Then you stop missing me.’

I asked you how I was supposed to do that. You reminded me that before you were born, I lived a happy and fulfilled life, knowing someday we’d be together. You told me to do the same now. Told me to live a full and happy life, knowing we’ll be together again.

Jamie, I know you don’t miss me because you’re still right here. A breath away. We're not separated. Not truly. We never will be. So, I’ll do what you ask. I’ll continue to live. Live for you. Live with you. Live the best life I can. Because I know that’s what you want.

But I can’t promise not to miss you. Because after knowing you, after loving, living, and laughing with you for nearly 21 years, there’s so very much to miss. Thank you, Jamie. Thank you for blessing me with so much to miss.
