Shawn/John and Louie/Lisa Wilcoxson

We attended the gallery reading with Lisa Wilcoxson on May 19th. Our son, Shawn, connected with us through Lisa. The heartfelt validations were loud and clear. So very comforting to hear from Shawn.
Shawn transitioned in October 2016 from a motorcycle accident and will be forever 29.

Lisa mentioned Shawn was standing right behind us. And, then Lisa told us that Shawn was saying we
should buy Louie, our grandson, a guitar. And, just a few days before our daughter sent pictures/videos
of Louie intently watching a friend of theirs strumming his guitar and Louie bopping to the tunes. (See
picture) By the way, Louie’s middle name is Shawn.

Lisa mentioned also that Shawn showed her a foam finger like one you would see at a football game
(number one fan). John, my husband, would always say to Shawn about any new venture he did, “I’m
your number one, biggest fan.” So, that was a very sweet validation that only family would know.
Then Lisa repeatedly told us Shawn was saying we were his “Life Line.” While Shawn was alive, he
struggled with bipolar disorder. Shawn would always say his dad was the one person who prevented
him from harming himself knowing it would hurt him too much to bury his only son. I would spend nights with him when he was going through his darkest moments of depression, just talking with him until the wee hours of morning.

Plus one of John’s sayings to his children was always “you call, we come.” We were glad to know Shawn felt this way because we always tried to be there for Shawn whether it was encouraging him in his business ventures or helping him through his depression.

Shawn mentioned thru Lisa that we were going to take a road trip in a fancy car. Mmmm...that one we
had to think about. But, then it dawned on us about some of our many morning conversations lately.
We have been talking about buying a new car since we will be taking a lot of road trips to/from California to visit family and our grandson. And, we sometimes start our trips with the song by Willie Nelson, “On the Road Again.” Shawn and John always bonded over cars, racing, and other motorized vehicles and he loved to travel. Another wonderful validation that Shawn is nearby and watching over us.

Thank you Lisa for connecting with Shawn and letting us know he is always with us. You are such a gift
to us and all of the HPH shining light parents. We are so appreciative of you and your work.
