We had a gallery reading on July 29, 2024 with Maureen Hancock about our daughter, MaryEllen. Let me just start out by telling you that I had no intention of joining until 10 minutes prior to the meeting when I was just drawn to sign up. Maureen hit on everything!

MaryEllen came through perfectly. At first, Maureen thought we lost a son but when I conveyed it was our daughter, she said that she had very strong (male) energy. Right away, she knew that MaryEllen passed quickly. When Maureen said that MaryEllen feels very grounded as if she were saying "I got this", it could not have been more real. MaryEllen had a complex medical life here and that was her all the time. With a smile every day, she always conveyed "I got this".

Next, Maureen raised her hands champion style and said this was MaryEllen's 'scene of heaven'.  That was exactly what I did after she passed because I felt the exact same thing! With arms raised to the sky, I felt she was congratulated for a job well done, here on earth. I saw it and felt it.

Then, Maureen was feeling a C or K name that was close to MaryEllen. We confirmed it was her brother, Kevin (who has the same medical condition as MaryEllen and at only 1 year apart in age, have spent their whole lives together).

Then, out of nowhere (and beautifully, I might add!) Maureen started singing "A Whole New World", a song from Aladdin. This was our song!!! The lyrics explained our life together. She taught me her world and I taught her mine. How amazing is this? This was our first ever experience with this as MaryEllen passed only 2 short months ago. I was speechless at this point. There's more!

Maureen gestured circling her face and said, “restored to wholeness and something about talking".  At this point, we hadn't said anything about MaryEllen's medical conditions. I told Maureen then that MaryEllen was severely handicapped and had never spoken. We finally heard MaryEllen's words! I was stunned!

Then Maureen said "Random, she has a puppy!"  Yes indeed, right again! We brought home a new puppy a week before MaryEllen's passing. As we were going back and forth, I was unsure if Maureen was talking about a dog here or in heaven. Maureen clarified by saying there is one in heaven but that one is black. Well, correct again! That is our dog Patrick, a black lab, that never left MaryEllen and Kevin. For his whole life, he was glued to them, and their room was his room.

But back to the earthly puppy.... Maureen was spot on when she was gesturing overbite/underbite issues. Our new pup has an unusual overbite, not really associated with his cocker/cavalier breed. That's why it was hard figuring out his breed, Maureen!! And his coloring, Maureen kept thinking sandy colored. His coloring is a little darker than that but yes, his eyebrows are bushy and cute and just envelop his face in, you guessed it, sandy colored fur. It's the first thing you notice when you see him.

And then, as another confirmation, MaryEllen acknowledged Kevin again. After the reading was over, I couldn't wait to share this news with Kevin. Kevin is also very severely handicapped, and his smiles are not as frequent or robust as MaryEllen's but, let me tell you, after I told him about his sister, he smiled the biggest, widest, smirkiest grin! It was beautiful!

Thank you, Maureen, for you. I don't have words for the peace you brought us. And to Elizabeth and Irene, my gratitude for all you do for us parents. You are a gift to this world. Please, go see the video on YouTube video on the HPH site 7/29/24 by clicking here.
