Kevin / Kat Baillie
I have had a couple gallery readings for my daughter, MaryEllen, so I know that validations are so very healing. On February 13th, my son Kevin’s, birthday, I felt compelled to join Kat Baillie’s gallery reading with my older daughter, Katie. Kevin passed only one week ago, but there he was, ready to greet us!
Kat said there was a boy that used a wheelchair his whole life, and needed ventilator support because of respiratory issues, and that this day was a celebration of some sort. I knew it was Kevin!
First, Kat said that Kevin held his head tilted to the side and that his laugh made a funny noise. Yes to both! Kevin’s laugh was silent most of the time due to the ventilator, but once in a while, we heard his voice and his guttural laugh was so evident and joyful. It was also true that Kevin (and his sister, Maryellen) were taken everywhere! Disney vacations, camping, cruising… whenever we could, we did!
Kat was quick to pick up on Kevin’s joyful spirit. That was the definition of Kevin his entire life with us; smiles and love. Kevin’s eyes were also very expressive as Kat said, and because he was nonverbal, that was our soul communication, another validation.
Thank you so much for validating Kevin’s love for us. He was, and is, the joy of our lives and my commitment to his care was my honor and privilege. As Kat said, at times, it did feel like the world was on my shoulders, and it is also true, that I didn’t care, I just focused on Kevin and unconditionally cared for him. Throughout his life, I never wanted him to feel like a burden, so that was a promise I made to myself that love and joy would always come first.
Also true, our house was modified to accommodate Kevin, and that we had a really nice van, (lol!) Kat wasn’t sure if the van was donated or what it was that was so special about the van. Our first van, when Kevin was young, was donated, and our second van that we purchased, was awesome, as Kevin said. (lol!) It has full surround sound speakers and a big tv that we used to play his favorite movies on. I’m so glad that he loved our rides in the van!
It was so nice that Kat validated Katie’s love for Kevin and that Kevin knew she loved him and would kiss his cheek and rub his head. How healing for her, and so needed. (Thank you <3 )
Kat also validated that despite Kevin’s disabilities, most days were good days for him (true!) and that he never felt like he missed out on anything. The perfect ending was Kat's validation of Kevin's name. She asked If the name Kevin meant anything to us. Of course it does! And then she said Kevin is sending "Kisses from Kevin!"
Thank you so much, Kat, and HPH for this. It’s wonderful to know that Kevin is so very happy and joyful, and with his sister. You gave us such peace.
