Colette Kraemer and her son Cameron/Jayme Phillips and her son, Devin

Please join me in welcoming Colette Kraemer, who will be joining Jayme Sears Phillips in Las Vegas. Thank you, wonderful Affiliate Directors, for helping Colette get started. We are grateful to all of you for the wonderful work you do!

Colette Kraemer:

I'm Colette, a nearly life-long resident of Las Vegas. I'm also a "Shining Light" parent and friend to all who grieve. My son's light shines through me - everywhere I go and in everything I do. In my heart, I knew my second child, Cameron, would be a boy, and this scared me. My soul must've known that he’d be the most important teacher in my life. When I got the news that Cameron had passed of an accidental fentanyl overdose, I was beside myself with grief, but I didn’t “feel” like he was gone. Yes, his physical self is gone, but his essence is not gone. For a few weeks, I felt him tugging at me, “Pay attention Mom, I’m here, I want to show you things!” The electricity was palpable. Finally, I told him I had to get both feet into this world. I’d get there soon enough, but for now he would have to wait. Then my grief work began, learning about the afterlife, recognizing the signs, finding helpful books & videos, navigating the rise & fall of grief, and YES - finding Helping Parents Heal. My healing journey wouldn't be the same without them. And remember, love will always be bigger than grief.

Jayme Phillips:

I am the mother of 4 amazing young men, ages 20-28. My second oldest son, Devin, decided to move to heaven on September 27, 2021 at the age of 24. Devin’s sudden and unexpected passing rocked our family’s world and shattered this momma’s heart in a million pieces. In those early painful days, it was Devin who gently guided me to find Helping Parents Heal’s Facebook page, which has been an amazing ongoing source of love and support. The group’s many resources has helped me to expand my awareness of spirit and helped me learn how to continue my relationship with my son in spirit form. Now, after having been on this journey for almost 2 years, I am ready to help organize the first Las Vegas Chapter of Helping Parents Heal, and bring together all the parents in this area who have lost a child, to help provide a source of support and connection along this journey. Together I know we can help each other heal and find joy again!

We will have our meetings on the first Wednesday of the month, starting on Wednesday, October 4th from 5:00 to 6:30 pm!
