Please join me, Kathy MacMannis, Rosanne Groover Norris, and Patti May as we welcome our newest Co-Affiliate Leader, Claire Silva, who will be joining Margaret Anderson for HPH - Single Parents, Hopeful Hearts. Welcome to our team!
Margaret Anderson:
My name is Margaret, I want to thank you for your courage, and maybe even curiosity, to join our group. Our goal is to support you as a Single Parent as you navigate the healing process. About me - I am a single mom of a daughter, two sons and two grandchildren. I live in Scottsdale Arizona and have been a member of HPH for 10 years. My oldest son Kenny transitioned October 29, 2004, from a motorcycle accident. He was twenty-three. Kenny assures me he is still by my side in so many ways, all of which fill my heart with gratitude, love, and amazement. HPH has been a significant factor in my healing journey, and I am forever grateful to those that opened their hearts to me.
As single parents our journey is quite different, without a partner to be there when we need a touchstone, we can feel isolated, disconnected, overwhelmed, and even forgotten. While Helping Parents Heal has an abundance of incredible resources, and we want you to take advantage of them, we also want to be able to show you that reconnecting with others is possible, that opening up to life again is possible. We hope that by sharing your experience with other single parents you feel part of a community of acceptance and connection and can support others too.
Claire Silva:
I raised 3 beautiful boys and had big plans for our future. But the unthinkable happened on December 5, 2021 when my middle son Willy (who was 21 at the time) fell asleep driving home. While it was the worst time of my life, Willy immediately started showing us signs that he was fine (and had not lost his sense of humor). Despite the signs, the weight of not having his physical presence seemed impossible to survive. Four months later, I found HPH and met two moms whose children transitioned the same week as Willy (one was also 21, the middle child too, and transitioned the same day)! I know Willy connected me to these incredible moms and their amazing kids, and keeps connecting me to other special parents. I am so grateful to HPH! We are all here to learn and heal together.
