I was lucky to have received a reading from Manisha Akhauri this evening during Manisha’s gallery readings. Manisha immediately said she had a young woman, a beautiful young woman who was likely a teacher, who did more than teach students, that she helped them in other ways.
She also stated that she was very funny. This was our Brianna, for sure! Bri chose to work at the poorest school in our community. It was her “home”, she often said. She gave her students a love for learning, but more importantly a place where they felt loved and safe. Brianna participated in musicals on stage—all of which were uplifting and funny. She always had us laughing, no matter where we were.
Manisha was right on with her identifying personal struggles, circumstances of Brianna’s passing and encouraging messages from Brianna to us.
